Simple Methods to Remove Fridge Odors with Only 1 Ingredient

None of us can imagine a life without a refrigerator. Many of our foods need to be refrigerated.

However, there are foods such as garlic, onion and some other, which leave a bad smell in your fridge. But, there is a solution for this problem by using natural ingredients.

So, here is a list of ingredients that can help you get rid of that disgusting smell.

1. Baking Soda

Of course, on the top of the list would be baking soda. If you put baking soda in your refrigerator, it will take in the particles that cause odor. How to do it? First, you need to remove the old items from your fridge.

Then, put a container that is filled with baking soda on one of the shelves. Close the fridge and let it stay like that for 5-6 hours. Finally, open the fridge, throw out the baking soda, and put back the good items.

2. Coffee

You need a fresh and dry coffee. Put it in a bowl and place it in the fridge. Let it stay 2-3 days. The bad smell should be removed. But, if the smell is too bad, you can place a bowl of coffee on every counter of the refrigerator.

3. Potatoes

Place a peeled potato in the fridge and keep it there for 2-3 days. You should change the potato till the odor is completely gone.

4. Lemons

Take some lemons and cut them into pieces. Place the pieces on every counter and compartment of your refrigerator. It needs 3-4 days till it takes effect. If you want your fridge to smell nice, you should keep lemon pieces there and change them every week.

5. Charcoal

First, you need to have your fridge at the lowest temperature. Then, put a bowl full of powder of activated charcoal. Close the fridge and leave it for 3 days to take effect. Charcoal is good because it can be used again by heating it for 20 mins. (350 degrees Celsius).

6. Vinegar

Vinegar has a specific smell, so you need small amounts of it. If you have a medium sized fridge, you need half of glass to get a good effect. Place it in the freezer for 3-4 days. Also, you can use this to clean your refrigerator because it is good in removing stains or some leftovers.

7. Vanilla

Take a cotton pad and put dip it into vanilla essence. Then, rub the shelves of your fridge with the cotton pad. It will remove the bad smell. Likewise, you can leave a cotton pad soaked in vanilla in your fridge, but remember to replace it every week.

8. Oats

Yes, you read well. You can use oats to remove odor from your fridge. Just put a bowl full of oats in your fridge and let it stay for 4-5 days. Also, to prevent bad smells, you can keep the bowl of oats in your fridge, but replace it every 7-10 days.

After all, there is an option that can help you prevent odors in your fridge. You need to keep your food in airtight containers. Check out the meat and vegetables if they are still good.

If you spill something, clean it right-away. Clean your fridge once a month by using natural cleaners such as water and baking soda (proportion 50-50), or water and white vinegar (60-40).
